Boating friends arrived today. Their boat, Sea Angel, is rafted up against a large gillnetter awaiting the fish opening on the first of August. The docks are very full at this time with fishboats and cruising boats.

A look into the life and sights of Sointula, BC. On an island off the top of Vancouver Island lies a most intriguing composite of community and independence- of idealism and practicality- and of old school and progressive attitudes. Distinct and in a wildly beautiful location, Sointula is the main small community on Malcolm Island. We visited in the 70's, returned many times and eventually settled here to discover all that the island has to offer us.
