At the Pancake breakfast the Hilltoppers play traditional Finnish and other lively tunes. Talented musicians abound on the island- Folk, Jazz, Bluegrass, vocal and instrumental. What a great community resource.

On an island off the top of Vancouver Island lies a most intriguing composite of community and independence- of idealism and practicality- and of old school and progressive attitudes. Distinct and in a wildly beautiful location, Sointula is the main small community on Malcolm Island. We visited in the 70's, returned many times and eventually settled here to discover all that the island has to offer us.
