Fish boats will lay idle in Sointula. The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) announcement yesterday was a no go. Pretty devastating to communities up island who depend on fishing for income. Resentment and the rumours of a protest fishery are in the air. Seems it has been a banner year for sport fishing and First Nations food fisheries.
