Basking in the sun, gulls take a break from their latest feeding frenzy. Masses of small fish provide easy pickings for birds this time of year.

A look into the life and sights of Sointula, BC. On an island off the top of Vancouver Island lies a most intriguing composite of community and independence- of idealism and practicality- and of old school and progressive attitudes. Distinct and in a wildly beautiful location, Sointula is the main small community on Malcolm Island. We visited in the 70's, returned many times and eventually settled here to discover all that the island has to offer us.
