Aug 28-09 Marble River
We decided to take a day trip on Vancouver Island. A short ride on the ferry from Sointula found us taking us on the road to Port Alice. This road passes by the beautiful Marble River.
The Marble River Marble River Provincial Park is located on the North Island, 15 Km south of Port Hardy at the junction of Rupert Inlet, Holberg Inlet, Quatsino Sound and Neroutsos Inlet. The river flows through a shallow canyon bordered by forest covered benchlands. The park protects an eagle nesting habitat and a steelhead fishery. It is also an important waterfowl habitat. Black bears are often seen in the park, especially during salmon spawning season. This is a gorgeous area- well worth a visit.
