These silk scarves are dyed with alder bark. Artopia not only has open studios to view, but workshops, art for sale and gallery shows. There are special dinners, BBQ's and Pancake breakfasts to attend.

On an island off the top of Vancouver Island lies a most intriguing composite of community and independence- of idealism and practicality- and of old school and progressive attitudes. Distinct and in a wildly beautiful location, Sointula is the main small community on Malcolm Island. We visited in the 70's, returned many times and eventually settled here to discover all that the island has to offer us.
