Dec. 7-06 Annie Tuck
After several busy days of making and sending off presents and generally tending to business, we hopped the ferry to Alert Bay. Our goal was to visit the U'Mista Cultural Centre for some Christmas shopping. On our way, I spotted an old friend tied to the dock, Annie Tuck, built for fishing the Bering Strait. She was one of the old sailing vessels. Last time we saw her, she had just been decommissioned as a fishboat but was being used as a fish buyer. She looked great and still had her masts and rigging. This view of her today does not do this boat justice. She was a beautiful and proud vessel and one that deserves recognition.
