Chris and Joyce help make a blended spice tea in a commercial kitchen. Wild Island Foods Cafe is closed for the Winter except for special dinners but allowed us to rent the kitchen for an evening. Throughout Sointula, residents are creating all sorts of items to be sold at the 30th annual WinterFest event.

A look into the life and sights of Sointula, BC. On an island off the top of Vancouver Island lies a most intriguing composite of community and independence- of idealism and practicality- and of old school and progressive attitudes. Distinct and in a wildly beautiful location, Sointula is the main small community on Malcolm Island. We visited in the 70's, returned many times and eventually settled here to discover all that the island has to offer us.
