The Quatse River Hatchery stocks 15,000 steelhead smolts annually. Their facility, along with a beautiful regional park and campground is located off Byng Road near Port Hardy, BC. Tours are available.

A look into the life and sights of Sointula, BC. On an island off the top of Vancouver Island lies a most intriguing composite of community and independence- of idealism and practicality- and of old school and progressive attitudes. Distinct and in a wildly beautiful location, Sointula is the main small community on Malcolm Island. We visited in the 70's, returned many times and eventually settled here to discover all that the island has to offer us.
