Jackie Hildering is a biologist dedicated to marine education. Her current roles include: program delivery as DFO's Education Coordinator on N. Vancouver Island; Head Naturalist for Stubbs Island Whale Watching; board member of the Whale Interpretive Centre and President of the Top Island Econauts Dive Club.

A look into the life and sights of Sointula, BC. On an island off the top of Vancouver Island lies a most intriguing composite of community and independence- of idealism and practicality- and of old school and progressive attitudes. Distinct and in a wildly beautiful location, Sointula is the main small community on Malcolm Island. We visited in the 70's, returned many times and eventually settled here to discover all that the island has to offer us.
