Once including a ferry terminus between Sayward and the upper Island, Beaver Cove is now a large dryland sort operation run by Canadian Forest Products. Logs are taken off the railway log cars and from arriving logging trucks and placed into locations according to species and grade. Once sorted, the logs are put into the water to be collected and put onto log barges.
