Smithy Dan runs the Sointula forge up at the Halls on Sundays and sometimes on Wednesdays during the summer. There you can make a hook using a number of basic techniques all for the price of a optional donation to the museum. Dan is an excellent teacher and will also give onlookers a great lesson in the history and importance of the village smithy and forge. This is great destination while visiting Sointula.
