Well, one day of sunshine and now the fog rolls in. Everyone in ready for summer. This shot was taken at 9 pm. The end of another Sointula day.

On an island off the top of Vancouver Island lies a most intriguing composite of community and independence- of idealism and practicality- and of old school and progressive attitudes. Distinct and in a wildly beautiful location, Sointula is the main small community on Malcolm Island. We visited in the 70's, returned many times and eventually settled here to discover all that the island has to offer us.
