Jim helps with the placement of the first of two posts which will support a davit to bring heavy items up from basement. Guess this is where you say "that's different!". Yes it is, but also very practical. The "cannery" theme is taking shape inside as well now.
Nice Wood!
The full 6"x6" fir post was cut on the island this summer and aged in the basement before being lifted into place.
Garage Opening
The crew was back for a week and removed some concrete foundation walls to make a garage door. It was hard, hard concrete and was not an easy job.
More sliding doors were installed as well as a new door entrance cut on the far side of the workshops.

Garage Door
A temporary garage door was installed. We are getting the basement workshops closer to functioning.
Winter in Sointula - Dec. 1, 2005
This day was sunny with that low sun angle that lights up all things near the water.
Nov. 27, 2005 Morning
It has snowed over on the Vancouver Island side. No snow here though. Definitely cool though.
Nov 24 Afternoon #2
The sun has broken through the clouds. The water glistens. Another magic moment.
Crow Confab
Took a trip over to Alert Bay- As I waited for the ferry a group of curious crows came to visit. Of course it helped that I was eating some rice crackers and was willing to share. Lots of squawking and vying for prime positions ensued. I have been drawing crows and ravens. It was a great chance to photograph many views of these intelligent characters.

Sunrise - Nov-20-05
Tired but happy after enjoying an entertaining and profitable Winterfest, we awoke to another glorious scene.
Morris Nov. 9
Morris Durdybird in all his glory! He must have brought the good weather, as the storm that was brewing earlier dissapated into this blue sky, sunny afternoon.
Hallowe'en Morning
After a long hiatus, I am again posting to the blog. Fall was approaching quickly. Many jobs to get the house ready for the rainy season and a decision to take a booth flogging my wares at the local Winterfest limited my blog keeping time. I continued taking photos of the ever changing view from our doorstep.
