This is yet another sunset from the deck. I dropped my camera a couple of weeks back and sorely miss it. I am using a lender occasionally, but my photo excursions are very limited at present until the camera returns repaired. Living here in Sointula and getting things fixed often requires sending items by post or courier and numerous long distance phone calls. Our post office is a real connection to the rest of the world. If it can be found in a catalog or on the internet we can get it in Sointula! The rest of the time when the post office is not open, we can all sit back and enjoy sunsets such as this one.

This is the finished floor before furniture. We still have some trimming to do around the hearth other finishing touches here and there.

Finally after all the spatters. brushstrokes and sprays, the floor was given several coats of Varathane. A few days of curing and it was ready to go.

We decided to get on with our life and paint the living room floor rather than wait until we had enough funds to pay for hardwood tongue and groove. I put on two coats of porch and floor base colour and then began the process of dribbling, spattering and spraying other colours.
