Tranquil blue. As we finish off a very cold January I cannot help but look back at the incredible skies I have viewed through my lens. I do love this view and truly cannot help myself taking yet another photograph of this vista. Ever evolving into another mood and palette of colours, it inhales and exhales to a rhythm all its own. I spoke on the phone to a friend down the street a few days ago who, at that moment, was experiencing quite a different view and weather and I realized that my deck offers me a precious moment as singular as it is beautiful.
Jan 28-07 Sunset from the Ray's
A spectacular sunset from Charlie and Alice's deck. Too bad about the electrical lines, but hard to resist taking a photo of such a blaze.
Jan. 26-07 Afternoon
The sun pierces through a heavy layer of clouds to light up the glittering, tranquil sea.
Jan. 26-07 Evening
This is facing Southeast yet the whole sky reflects the pink and mauve of the days end.
Jan. 16-07 Morning
Get out the sunscreen. I have not been very motivated to get the camera out for the past few days. It has been very cold and icy. Even the deck is way too slippery where I have not cleared it. Time to hibernate. This unusually frigid weather is not fun when you live on a steep hill. Great for the view though. Today it is sunny and like bears, I am going to venture forth in search of mud only I look for mud to step in as it is not slippery whereas, unlike me, bears eat the mud (clay) to clean out their systems when coming out of hibernation. Such an interesting bit of info you say? Oh the uses of good ole mud.

Jan. 10-07 Deck Pickets
The warmth of the sun released a loud explosion snow missiles off the roof. Glad to have been inside.
Jan. 9-07 View
oh no, more snow.... The next three shots show the progression of weather during the next few minutes. I take lots of photos of this view as it never fails to amaze me with its moods.
Jan. 9-07 View
oh no, more snow.... The next three photos shows a series of shots taken over the next few minutes on the afternoon of Jan. 9, 2007. Just another reason I take photos of tis ever changing view.
Jan. 3-07 Victoria
Christmas lights outline the Parliament Buildings in Victoria during our trip down island.
