May 26-09 looking from bedroom to livingroom
Just finished the floor. Still a bit of trim to complete and window washing to do but it is coming together.
May 13-09 Home at last!
We arrived home from our trip to Victoria. Dog came with us. Cat stayed home. Here, united again, the two friends are content in each other's company.
May 10-09 Zorba at UVic
Jim and Zorba at the dog walking park at University of Victoria- a large fenced in area dedicated to dog walking, romping and socialization.
May 10-09 I am not going another step
Our dog's walking buddy, Knuckles, became reluctant. No amount of coaxing from Bill would get him moving any way but back to the house.
Living and Working in Sointula
Though not strictly Sointula, the next four photos took place on our trip down to Victoria. For months I had been working on the video component of a performance of Ocean World, an environment choral performance presented by the Victoria Children's Choir and sponsored by the Raincoast Conservation Foundation. Living in Sointula had its special challenges as everyone else was in Victoria, some 483 Km (300 miles) away. Thanks to tremendous assistance from the producer and sponsors, the 21 videos were completed in time. I also have to thank the internet ftp service YouSendIt, email, our local post office and my husband for multiple ferry trips to Port McNeill. I lived to tell the tale...
May 9-09 Ocean World Choir Director and Sponsor
After a very successful performance and the jubilant choir members off to their homes, the Bengal Room at the Empress was the destination. More relaxed, the adult crew enjoyed celebratory concoctions. Mine was something with cranberry and egg white. Delish!
May 9-09 Victoria Children's Choir
A view of part of the choir a minute before Ocean World began. The children were focused and tense with excitement. The production was incredibly moving and powerful. If you have a chance to hear this choir perform invite some friends. You will not be disappointed.
May 9-09 Choir pre- performance
Some jitters but the choir is ready to perform this extraordinary piece.

May 8-09 Prince Charming
A well decorated veteran of many community plays, Don can always get a laugh.
May 8-09 Rapunzel practicing her whines
And so, you too, would be whiney after being locked up in a tower all those years without a hairdresser for miles.
May5-09 Giantess wreaks revenge
Stage scene for the Giantess' hissy fit. The set is done and ready for action. One last run through tweaks the rumples for the numerous set changes needed during the play.
Ap 28-09 Fixing the drive
Our drive is about an 18% grade and in need of repair. Note the large I-beam serving as a smoother.
Ap 28-09 11 am
Snow can be seen on the mountains on Vancouver Island but Spring really is here this time.
Ap 26-09 sunset 7:25 pm
We have been tracking the movement and time of sunset by taking a photo from the same spot on the deck. We will probably put them together as a sequence at some point.
Ap 24-09 Jack's House set
This is where Jack and his mother live now sans Milky White. Not quite finished but getting there.
Ap 24-09 Wendy and Milky White
Wendy and Milky White bond after hours of taping. gluing and painting.
Ap 24-09 Kathleen and Milky
Milky is missing her throat piece, revealing a place to "feed" her a red cape, hair as yellow as silk, and a golden slipper. Ahhh, the magic of theatre.
Ap 24 Heidi helps
Painting the sets. One for the set, one for the lips. One for the set one for the eyebrows...
